Questions, answered plainly.
The coin
- How much is one coin?
- $39, including the design and both sides printed. Shipping is $6.95. There's no setup fee and no minimum.
- Why is one coin $39 when ten are $19 each?
- The $39 covers the design work and the one-off handling. After the first, each additional coin mostly costs materials, so the price drops fast.
- How big are they?
- 40mm across — a bit larger than a US half dollar. About 3mm thick with a raised rim.
- Gold or silver — is it real metal?
- The blank is metal with a polished gold or silver finish. It's not solid gold. Where your design leaves the surface open, that bare polished metal shows through, which is what makes these look different from printed coins.
- Will the print rub off?
- No. It's UV-cured ink with a gloss coat, and the raised rim keeps the face off most surfaces. We carried test coins loose in a pocket all day, rubbing against keys and each other, with no wear.
Designing it
- Can I put a photo on it?
- Yes. Upload up to three, then tell us how you want the people to look: printed true to your photo, or as a hand-drawn caricature. Either way the bare polished metal still shows through wherever the design leaves the surface open.
- Can I use my own photo?
- Yes — if you design it yourself, you place your own photo directly on the coin and we print it exactly as you placed it, with nothing redrawn or filtered. (Describing your coin instead? Upload a photo the same way and tell us how you want it to look — see the question above.)
- Can I do the front myself and let you do the back?
- Yes. Each side is its own choice — describe one side and design the other yourself, or use the same method on both. You can switch a side's method any time before that side is approved.
- What size and resolution should my photo be?
- At least 600×600 pixels — most phone photos are already well beyond that. If a photo gets stretched too large or cropped down too far to print sharp, we'll tell you before you can finish, so you're never guessing.
- How many times can I redesign it?
- Three free tries per side if you're describing it, and it's $5 for five more past that. Designing it yourself has no limit — edit it as many times as you want before you lock it in.
- What if I don't like any of them?
- Ask for a refund before you lock your design and we'll give you all of it back, no questions.
- Can I upload my own finished artwork?
- Not yet — designs are made through our design tool, which builds them from your description and photos. Email us if you have something specific and we'll see what we can do.
- How are the designs made?
- Two ways. Describe what you want and our design tool builds it, using image generation, then shows it to you in a minute or two — you get three tries per side, so you can steer it until it's right. Or skip that and place your own photo, text and art on the coin yourself, with no limit on edits. However it's made, every design is reviewed by a person before it goes to the printer.
- Can I have a different design on each coin?
- Not yet — every coin in an order carries the same front and back. If you need a mix, place separate orders or get in touch and we'll sort it out.
Ordering and shipping
- How long until it arrives?
- We print and ship within five business days, then USPS takes two to five. Rush production is $15 and ships in two business days.
- Do you ship outside the US?
- Not yet. We're working on it.
- Can I reorder later?
- Yes, and it's 15% off. We keep your design on file — no setup, no redesign.
- Do I need an account?
- You get one automatically with your first order — there’s no separate signup. It’s where you see your orders, follow printing and shipping, and come back to finish designing. Sign in with the email you ordered with.
- How do I get back to my design or order?
- Sign in at printglo.com/account with the email you ordered with. Never set a password? Choose “Email me a link” on the sign-in page and we’ll send you one.
- Do you do bulk?
- Yes. Over 100 coins, request a quote and we’ll price it for you.
What we can't print
- Can I put my military unit's insignia on it?
- No. Official military and law enforcement insignia are protected marks and we can't print them. We can do original designs in that style, which is what most people want anyway.
- What else can't you print?
- Sports team logos, movie and character IP, company logos you don’t own, currency designs, and hate symbols. If we can’t print your order, we cancel it and refund you in full. The full list is in our prohibited content policy.
